Erica & Spenser: High-End Custom Sioux Falls Wedding

I met with Erica in January ahead of her August wedding. We both hit it off and were excited to work together. I knew her wedding would be a special one since she had already hired some of the best in the business to be a part of her big day. Erica was also in one of my specialty markets; the medical profession. Almost 90% of my weddings include a medical professional be it the bride, groom or both! They are some of my favorites to work with for a couple of reasons.

First, they have literally dedicated their lives to giving to others, which means that they are going to be generous with their guests and able to focus on the things that really matter.

Secondly, having a family full of medical pros means that I have an inside view on how dedicated these men and women are and how often they go above and beyond to care for others. I love, love, love being able to show them my appreciation by helping them enjoy the happiest day of their lives. It is easy to go above and beyond for people who do just that day after day.

Our first step was to meet and do a walk-thru at the venue, The District. It is a unique space that can accommodate a rock concert and an intimate, high-class wedding. And, bonus, the staff was really wonderful to work with and handled the heavy lifting of set-up. The day-of, this allowed me to float between completing the finishing touches at the venue, checking in with hair & makeup as my ladies got gorgeous, and helping the guys get photo-ready with boutonnieres.

Not only did Erica and Spenser have some of the best in the business behind them on their special day, but they included so many personal (even handmade!) touches, which took the celebration from gorgeous to unforgettable. Spenser designed the stationery himself, and many of the decorations were a labor of love between Erica and Spenser. They utilized his love of woodworking and her armed with a handy Cricut machine! Timeless, high-class details, like breathtaking floral from the Flower Mill, partnered perfectly with the laid-back and fun elements of late-night pizza and a delicious donut wall for dessert. At the end of the day, the joy and love between these two was evident in every glance and embrace. And, I was right, it was definitely a wedding I wanted to be a part of!
